Erland performed extensive due diligence for OneBeacon Insurance before the company purchased the site of their new US Corporate Headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts. Taking a simultaneous, multi-phase approach, Erland completed this complex renovation in just over eight months. Consolidating from several locations, more than 1,000 OneBeacon employees moved into the new facility. The renovation included a gut/rehab of the early 1980s building. The refurbished facility features a 23,000sf, 2-story atrium centered around an indoor courtyard, reconfigured glass-paneled conference rooms, open office space, a central telecommunications/data hub, a new kitchen and servery, and a new fitness center. Years later, OneBeacon again retained Erland to perform a multi-phased renovation. The insurance company consolidated their operations within the building and leased two-thirds of the Canton facility to The Shaw Group. Erland managed the interior build out and the creation of multiple secured entrances to accommodate each tenant.
