EMD Serono selected Erland, Page Southerland Page, Inc., and BR+A Consulting Engineers to renovate an existing 290-square-foot core laboratory situated on the second floor of the Bourne Building and to relocate a Hamilton robotic freezer from the first floor to this space, all while ensuring seamless operations. The focus of this occupied renovation was on the meticulous decommissioning and reinstallation of this critical equipment without causing disruptions. In addition to installing the cold storage equipment, the existing laboratory’s mechanicals, including life safety and fire protection systems, were also upgraded. The renovation contributed to the company’s ongoing commitment to providing medicines, drug-delivery devices, and support services for patients with difficult-to-treat diseases. This was Erland’s twelfth project with EMD Serono.
