Campus Residences at Westfield State University

The Massachusetts State College Building Authority (MSCBA) invited Erland and PCA to team on a complete multi-phased program of renovations, upgrades, and deferred maintenance at Westfield State University. Over seven years, several of Westfield’s residence halls received aesthetic and system upgrades in a series of summer slammers. Renovations included upgrades to the fire and life safety systems; a new elevator at Scanlon Hall and entryways with ramps for ADA compliance; and renovations to dorm rooms, lounges and lobbies. New 80KW generators were added at both Dickinson and Davis Halls. Many bathrooms received cosmetic and ADA upgrades. A basement was renovated to accommodate Residential Life, Health Services, a game room, and laundry facilities. A total of 233 windows and window sills were replaced at Lammers Hall. Finally, Erland renovated three apartment-style dormitories.
