Clinical-stage biotechnology company, Genosco, represented by Newmark Knight Frank, teamed with Erland and E4H to renovate 13,500sf of existing office and lab space within their new location in Billerica, MA. The 2-story occupied building has a tenant on the second floor. A more energy efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system was installed. New rooftop units and dedicated exhaust fans, eight new fume hoods and metal lab casework, and new LED lighting were also required. Additionally, a new steel dunnage for the building’s roof was installed to support the new mechanical equipment. The fit-out created both chemistry and biology labs as well as tissue culture and chemical storage rooms. Office improvements included new interior finishes, audio-visual support, and furniture. New restrooms, a cafeteria, and conference rooms were also part of the renovation. The new environment allows Genosco to continue to pursue the discovery and development of novel small-molecule drugs to treat patients with unmet medical needs.
