EMD Serono Immuno Oncology Lab

In just four months, the footprint of an Animal Care Facility within the basement of an EMD Serono occupied building was reworked. Erland teamed with Ellenzweig and BR+A Consulting Engineers to swap the layout of the current space and relocate some of the lab’s existing mechanicals. Mitigating moisture at the basement level was of great importance to ensure proper adhesion for the new Stonehard epoxy floor that were installed in the vivarium. Safety was a major component of this renovation. All project team members were required to participate in an EMD Serono cleanroom safety training including a review of the gowning/de-gowning procedures needed to enter and leave the lab. Erland also worked closely with the EMD facilities team to maintain the lab’s operations for the duration of the project.
