EMD Serono Selects Erland Construction, STV Inc., PM Group, and INTEC Group, Inc., for New Project

Billerica, MA – EMD Serono, the biopharmaceutical business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, in the U.S. and Canada, has chosen Erland, in partnership with STV Inc., PM Group, and INTEC Group, Inc., to transform an existing open office area into an innovative visitor experience room. The centerpiece of this renovation will be a state-of-the-art 19-foot by 6-foot interactive wall screen designed to engage and immerse visitors. The four-month project will also include significant upgrades to the flooring, lighting, and installation of smart storefront glass partitions, creating a modern and sleek aesthetic. Additionally, the space will be refreshed with a new coat of paint, and bench seating will be installed along the windows to maximize comfort and functionality.

The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems will be upgraded to fully support the new technology being installed. To accommodate the room’s expansive wall screen, a dedicated Audio/Visual closet will be constructed. In addition, new window shades and updated life safety systems will be incorporated into the space. The building will remain occupied throughout construction. Erland will carefully coordinate the work to ensure the building remains fully operational, minimizing disruption to daily activities.

Upon completion, the finished space will feature a coffee station and additional amenities, making it a welcoming environment for client presentations and meetings.
