2023 Subcontractor Spotlights

October
This month’s Subcontractor Spotlights were provided by Erland’s Broadstone 305 and 101 Smith Place team.

Energy One America is a subcontractor that provides installation services for air barrier/waterproofing, spray foam, and Forticel, a wildly successful mold mitigation coating on Erland’s latest residential project. As a new firm working with Erland, they have shown their commitment to being a trusted trade partner, which is displayed every day by their entire staff, both in the field and in the office. Their problem-solving capabilities have kept the project’s exterior work moving forward.

Amazing Glazing has been performing the curtainwall installation on the 215,000sf lab-ready building, 101 Smith Place, in Cambridge. They have continuously done a great job on the facility’s exterior and have proven to be very efficient and pleasant to work with.

This month’s Subcontractor Spotlights were provided by Erland’s Benjamin Franklin Building at Hancock Village project team.

Metro Walls, a full-service framing and drywall contractor, is being recognized for their collaboration on our 479,000sf residential project in Brookline. They continuously bring a solutions-based mindset, with foreman Danny Mack always willing to work through any challenge that may arise. Metro Walls is conscientious of the project schedule and pushes to complete their work on time.
 
Lighthouse Masonry Inc., especially their foreman Rui Fernandes, has been highly responsive when offering solutions and communicating with the project team. During his time working at the Benjamin Franklin Building, he has built a great relationship with the architect, taking all viewpoints into account. His diligence in pushing to complete work in a timely manner is very much appreciated, and for that, Lighthouse Masonry Inc. is being recognized.

This month’s Subcontractor Spotlight was provided by Erland’s One Corporate Drive team. 

Structural Systems, Inc. is being recognized for their performance on the One Corporate Drive project in Andover. As a complete steel subcontractor with over 60 years of experience, they have gone above and beyond to assist the structural design team with the miscellaneous metals required on the project. SSI expedited shop drawings, fabrication, and installation of the added steel that is critical to the schedule to keep the project moving forward. 
 

July
This month’s Subcontractor Spotlight was provided by Erland’s 4th Ave Residences at Northwest Park team. 

Gerrity Stone is being recognized for their communication and coordination at the 4th Ave Residences in Burlington. As the fabricator and installer of granite, quartz, and other stone, Gerrity Stone worked diligently to source a variety of solid surface tops to ensure both budget and Owner and Architect intent were met. Their field team has successfully kept pace with templating and turning around finished pieces for each unit in the required time frame.

This month’s Subcontractor Spotlight was provided by Erland’s Freedom Wind team.

Murphy Electric & Industrial Control is being recognized for their excellent cooperation at Freedom Wind in Foxborough. Between their vast knowledge of commercial electrical construction, energy, and controls and their long-standing history of working with The Kraft Group, MEIC has been invaluable in navigating this unique project at Patriot Place.

This month’s Subcontractor Spotlight was provided by Erland’s Broadstone 305 team.

Atlantis Comfort Systems is being recognized for their problem solving and hard work at Broadstone 305. They are consistently providing innovative solutions within our coordination efforts of the HVAC scope of work. Atlantis Comfort Systems has also been diligently pushing the installation of their work in the field to keep the project on track.
 

April
This month’s Subcontractor Spotlight was provided by Erland’s 101 Smith Place team.

Lockwood Remediation Technologies, LLC (LRT), is being recognized for their hard work and reliable expertise at 101 Smith Place. LRT has been onsite in Cambridge since excavation began, working through soil disposal and an unforeseen volume of groundwater. Even with a series of challenges emerging, their dedication to managing and maintaining the dewatering systems has been crucial to keeping the project moving forward.
 

March
This month’s Subcontractor Spotlight was provided by Erland’s One Corporate Drive (IQHQ) team.

The Aulson Company, Inc., the demolition specialty subcontractor, is being recognized for their continuously great work in Andover. Aulson has been extremely flexible with their schedule to accommodate the adverse site conditions, has completed every specific request by Erland, and has been a real team player with the other trades.
 

February
This month’s Subcontractor Spotlights were provided by Erland’s Residential Group.

The Benjamin Franklin Building (Sherman) at Hancock Village team nominated Turner Brothers, LLC for their exceptional efforts in working through adverse weather conditions during the project’s recent concrete pours. 

The 4th Ave Residences at Northwest Park team selected Brunelle Brothers Electric for their consistent communication and quality of work while roughing in the electrical for this new apartment community. 

The Block at Odell Park team nominated Roy Spittle Electric for their hard work and assistance in overcoming challenges, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible, that have come up at this stage of the project.
 

January
This month’s Subcontractor Spotlights were provided by Erland’s Academic, Corporate, Commercial Group.

The Freedom Wind at Patriot Place team nominated MAS Building & Bridge for their efforts in keeping us aware of upcoming items. With their expansive knowledge of structural steel and extreme dependability, MAS has been an irreplaceable asset on this unique project.

The Patterson-Sculley House (Residence Life Project) at St. Mark’s School team nominated Tim’s Fabricator’s, Inc. for going above and beyond to complete the required balcony railing installation in time for the final building inspection after some last-minute modifications. 

The 101 Smith Place team nominated Marguerite Concrete for quickly getting foundations/mat slabs placed once the groundwater was under control onsite. They had a solution for every challenge that arose and pushed to keep the project moving forward.
